Homework!

The past few days have seen P and I doing homework when I get home from the office. It was generally the “easy” stuff—reading, language, chinese.

Then today, I was reading his homework notebook and for the first time, he had a CLE (it’s Christian Life Education, for those who don’t know) assignment. Seemed pretty easy enough—go for a stroll with your Dad and Mom, look at the wonderful things God had made and then draw it on a paper plate and put some decors on it.

I figured, easy peasy. So I asked P if he wanted me or his Dad to help him out for this one. He’s a very diplomatic child, he said, “both”.

THEN he asks me the hard questions: How did God make the world? How can he do it alone if He’s a person? But He *is* a person, isn’t He?

Oooookay…I quickly sent S a message on his mobile: You’re in charge of P’s homework this weekend.

Hahahahahaha!

I tried as much to concretize God to P but I can’t. Pointers, anyone? Please?

God is a divine trinitarian person. A “person” is not only a “human person”. There are three kinds of persons: human persons, angelic persons and divine persons. “Person” is a Christian term, meaning individua substantia natura rationalis, or simply, a being with rational (meaning spiritual, not rational as in the capacity to reason) nature.
